Education as the Island's Most Durable Export.
Every dollar invested in education infrastructure will generate an estimated US$3.20 in broader economic activity. The learning clusters are not schools - they are destination experiences that happen to produce graduates. A surf academy operating on the world's best breaks. A performing arts conservatoire with a jungle backdrop. Marine research labs studying reefs that cannot be found anywhere else.

Learn on the Best Waves in the World.
The Mentawai Surf Institute will offer professional surf instruction from beginner to advanced levels, surf guiding certification, ocean safety training, and the professional pathway to elite surf competition. Reef Labs will provide marine biology, coral restoration, blue carbon accounting, and scientific diving programmes - with student research feeding directly into MCF conservation data.
A 1,200-Seat Performance Hall With a Jungle Backdrop.
The Mentawai Academy of Performing Arts will offer world-class training in music, dance, and theatre within purpose-built facilities - a 1,200-seat main hall with world-class acoustics, a 300-seat intimate theatre, outdoor amphitheatre, and recording studios. The Visual Arts Campus will connect traditional Mentawai craftsmanship with contemporary global art practice through gallery, studio, and exhibition spaces.

The Island's Deepest Knowledge Deserves Its Own Institute.
The Mentawai Indigenous Research Institute will preserve, study, and revitalise the language, traditional medicine, oral history, and cultural heritage of the Mentawai people - governed by an indigenous elders council with formal authority over all cultural elements. Free Mentawai language instruction for all permanent residents. Five percent of relevant programme revenue returned to communities.
Twenty Percent of Every Cohort. By Design.
Twenty percent of all programme places will be reserved for indigenous youth across every learning cluster. Local hiring targets begin at 65% in Phase 1 and will reach 80% by Phase 3. The education programme is not a parallel system to the community - it is the community's pathway into the global economy, built around the knowledge they already carry.

"An island that teaches the world what it means to live in balance with nature will never run out of things to teach."
