Connectivity
The SEZ Padang extension sits within an established logistics network — connected by sea, air, and planned energy transmission infrastructure to domestic and international markets.
Port Access
Padang's Teluk Bayur port provides direct maritime access for bulk commodity exports, containerised freight, and equipment imports. Planned port upgrades will increase throughput capacity to support the zone's manufacturing and agricultural output.
Air Connectivity
Minangkabau International Airport connects West Sumatra to Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and regional hubs. Delta seaplane routes will provide direct island-to-mainland connectivity, reducing travel times and enabling rapid movement of personnel and lightweight cargo.
HVDC Grid Integration
On-site HVDC cable manufacturing supports the development of high-capacity energy transmission links, connecting geothermal output to the wider Sumatran grid and potentially to cross-strait interconnections. This positions the zone as both a consumer and exporter of renewable energy.
Zone Corridors
A dedicated internal logistics network connects all districts within the zone — reducing inter-facility transport costs, enabling just-in-time material flows between co-located operations, and minimising the zone's reliance on external road infrastructure.
